HEATHER NEWMAN
THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE

Deeply restorative massage, rooted in nurturing touch.  My work invites you

to slow down, find balance, and come home to yourself; mind, body, and soul.

HI, I'M HEATHER

I’m a Massage Therapist specialising in Indian Head Massage.

My work focuses on supporting the nervous system, easing physical and mental tension, and helping people reconnect with their bodies.

My home studio is a nurturing space in which to step out of the rush of everyday life and truly switch off.  From the moment you arrive, everything is designed to help you settle, soften, and feel cared for.

Often we are carrying more than we realise, perhaps feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and burned out.  From the mental load of constant responsibility, and the pressure of giving to others, rarely do we pause and take time for ourselves.

Through massage, I provide a space in which to pause.  By releasing tension in the body, we can often restore calm and clarity in other areas of our lives.

INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE

Indian Head Massage originates from the ancient Indian healing system of Ayurveda, a practice that honours the whole person; body, mind, and soul, recognising how everything is connected.

It works with the scalp, head, neck, shoulders, upper back, and arms, helping to release tension, calm the nervous system, and restore balance.  The massage also supports the body’s natural flow, creating a sense of harmony and wellbeing throughout.

Each session begins with grounding breaths and gentle hair brushing, a simple yet profoundly nurturing practice that helps your body settle and prepare for the massage.

My home studio provides a warm, and nurturing environment, allowing you to fully switch off and feel held from the moment you arrive.

BEFORE I FOUND MASSAGE...

Before I discovered my passion for massage, I was working as a Postpartum Doula.

During that time, I created these postpartum planning worksheets based on what I wish I’d had myself as a new mother, a guide to help plan, prepare, and feel supported in those early, tender weeks.

When I made the decision to focus fully on massage, I felt sad knowing these worksheets might never be seen or used.

So, I decided to offer them FOR FREE here on my website, for anyone who might be a new mum, a mum-to-be, or know someone who is.

It’s my way of giving back, sharing the guidance I wish I’d had, and honoring that chapter of my life with love as I step into my new path.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Heather is both a personable and professional practitioner. She creates a space that feels safe and inviting. A place where total relaxation is possible. Kindly checking in with a gentle whisper about different pressures and giving instructions so to not detract from the experience. As a mother of two, I don’t think I have sat down for so long and also allowed myself to fully “let go”, giving my trust over to another adult to care for me. Being in Heather’s presence allowed me to do this. Those thirty minutes were bliss, I feel a deep sense of revitalisation. Seeing Heather will now be part of my “looking after me” routine. I deserve this time for me. Thank you so much.
